Jayson Tatum Injury Update: Celtics Star Dealing with Ankle Issue Ahead of Eastern Conference Finals
By Land Media Digital – May 14, 2025
Boston Celtics fans are holding their breath as star forward Jayson Tatum deals with a lingering ankle issue just days before the start of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Tatum appeared to tweak his right ankle during the closing minutes of Game 6 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although he stayed in the game and helped seal the victory, he was seen limping slightly postgame and received treatment in the locker room.
Head Coach Joe Mazzulla spoke to reporters on Tuesday morning, saying, “Jayson is a competitor. He’s doing everything he can to be ready. We’ll monitor his progress over the next 48 hours and make a decision before tip-off.”
Tatum, 27, has been instrumental in the Celtics' playoff run, averaging 28.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game this postseason. His leadership and shot-making ability have made him a key figure in Boston’s pursuit of Banner 18.
Fans are anxiously awaiting further updates, hoping that Tatum’s injury won’t derail the Celtics’ title hopes. Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday night at TD Garden.
